Amazing Charts versus Practice Fusion

I am starting a solo practice and coming from a big FQHC with cumbersome very expensive software.  It is difficult deciding what software to use.  I am trying to decide between Amazing Charts and Practice Fusion.  I had been planning on using Updox for patient scheduling/messaging/fax but some of these features overlap with the EHRs.  Is there a post discussing this?  Thanks.

How much does Amazing charts cost? I have practice fusion. 99 .00/ month.  Very easy to set up. In my experience user friendly I am not a techy. I think the people at Practice Fusion are tying to keep up with Medicare policies and procedures.

I have used Amazing Charts in the past. I liked it. In another clinic I use ELATION EMR. which I really like. They are cloud based and they let you do a test drive. I think the cost is $299 per month per provider.

My vote would be for AC over Practice Fusion.  I started my micropractice using Practice Fusion because it was free, simple and browser-based, with Updox for document management and Kareo for practice management.   I would have started on Amazing Charts out of the gate but they didn't have a cloud option at the time and I didn't want to have to manage a database.  When AC went to the cloud, I hopped over.  My partner still uses Practice Fusion and I would still use it if I had to.  The earlier version, less weighted-down by their clunky attempts at Meaningless Use compliance and kind of half-assed practice analytics, was better.  They seem now to do in 5 clicks what could be done in 3, especially in e-prescription; but you can still get the note to be what you want it to be.  Their IT support is kind of a joke.  AC is a much better-designed, more broadly capable EMR with excellent technical support.  AC has been sold twice since I started using it, which made me a little apprehensive, but I haven't noticed any loss of customer support or interest.  In the past year to year and a half, they have more or less outgrown their cloud host, which sometimes interfered with server access, but they are in the process of migrating to Microsoft Azure.  It costs about $1500 per doctor to set up and then about  the same per year plus $40 per month per cloud seat, including updates and unlimited IT support.  Some interfaces are a one-time extra charge.  Still using Updox and Kareo.  I have not explored the AC PM module.

From a revenue cycle perspective I would suggest Amazing Charts, they use the claimremedi clearinghouse.  That has a lot of built in benefits.  The eligibility is second to none and the reporting is really good as well.  If you want to know more about that part just reach out to me.

That is super helpful, thank you very much!
Tech support is key as is the number of clicks.
    Thanks again,
    Peter
